Philadelphia's Lindy and Blues
is honored to present a workshop with
Sharon Davis & Kevin St. Laurent
on Saturday, May 31st, 2008

We believe Sharon and Kevin to be some of the most talented dancers in the world. Watch this video of them winning this Jack & Jill competition at the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown in 2007 (they're the first couple, Sharon's wearing the red skirt) and see if you agree with us:

Kevin and Sharon don't normally teach with each other, so this is an extra special occasion they've presented us.

Here are the details:
Sat May 31st from 11AM-5PM at the Ethical Society on Rittenhouse Sq.
Kevin & Sharon will teach four 1h 15m classes for a total of 5 hours instruction & one 1h break.
If you register before May 24th, the workshops will be $50. On May 24th, registration goes up to $60. Single class passes will only be available on the day of the workshop for $18 per class, space and lead/follow balance allowing.

Down below, Maw and Paw were sitting on their front porch, swinging and talking about the good old days when suddenly Maw shouted, "Paw! Lookee there! Ain't that the biggest bird yew ever seen?"

Paw agreed, reached into the living room, grabbed his shotgun, took careful aim, and "BANG! BANG!"

The monster bird continued sailing silently overhead. "I think ya missed him, Paw," said Maw.

"Yeah, mebbe so," he grunted, "but at least he let go of Bubba!"

"My son, you cannot offend me," says the Nun. "When you're as old as I am and have been a Nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive."

"Well," said the cabbie, "I've always had a fantasy to have a Nun kiss me."

"Well, lets see what we can do about that," the Nun replies. "First, you have to be single and, second, you must be Catholic."

The cabbie is very excited and says, "Yes, I'm single and Catholic!"

"Okay," says the Nun. "Pull into the next alley."

The Nun fulfills his fantasy with a passonate kiss but, when they get back on the road, the cabbie starts crying.

"My dear child," says the Nun, "why are you crying?"

"Forgive me, Sister, for I have sinned," says the cabbie. "I lied, and I must confess that I'm married and I'm a Methodist."

That's okay," says the Nun. "My name is Kevin and I'm going to a costume party."

The bee said, 'What seems to be the problem?'

'I'm out of gas,' the man replied.

The bee told the man to wait right there and flew away. Minutes later, the man watched as an entire swarm of bees flew to his car and into his gas tank.

After a few minutes, the bees flew out.

'Try it now,' said one bee.

The man turned the ignition key and the car started right up.

'Wow!' the man exclaimed, 'what did you put in my gas tank'?

That was cool. There were tons of people out. One guy cheered loudly every time they swapped out the images. It was really funny and really fun. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought. I wish the weather had been a little better over the weekend. I also wish I had something better than my camera phone. Anyways, it was cool.

Yes we met each other !! I remember you! Well that was a long time ago and I can't remember for wich event you were in Toulouse but I know that we dance together!! I'm glad will be able to dance again together !! But I think you don't know the girls as they were not swing dancers in 2005...

That's very kind to you to offer us this opportunity to sleep. However for the moment we haven't planned to rent a car except for going to Celveland. So it might be difficult without a car... But, if we don't find any other solution, we'll be glad to stay with you. We'll rent a car for these 10 days, that will be still more fun and cheaper than going to an hotel !! I hope you understand us ! Anyways, I'll dance with you during our trip!

For the moment, if someone else living nearby the subway or in downtown can host us, even for a few days, that would be great!! The two grils i'm coming with in DC are tiny, so we only need a very small place to stay!!

I'm so excited about this trip!! See you at the end of the month !!

Well, here we go again !

New Haven, CT (and vicinity) will be the scene of the 2008 Connecticut Lindy Exchange, taking place on July 25 thru 27, 2008.

Live bands this year include the great Solomon Douglas Quintet and Boston�s own Fried Bananas. Rounding out the music lineup are National DJs Devona Cartier from NYC, Rayned Wiles (Baltimore/Washington) and Loreto Agdinaoay (Cleveland). Solomon will also be DJ�ing a set. The local/regional DJ showcase includes Camille �C-Jam� Fontanella, Meghan �Cookie� Fitzpatrick, Dhruv �SoundsLikeDrew� Bhargava and Chris Oksanen.

Bobby and Kate, being the most gratious people that they are, have moved their Bal dance at CCB to May 30th.

That means all you Bal nuts, and everybody else, should come out to Glen Echo on the 23rd and play with us!

And also go see Bobby and Kate on the 30th.
